The cloth-lined basket helps solids build up gradually into a uniform cake, which can reduce crystal breakage compared with harsher discharge designs and support more controlled washing and dewatering.

Working Principle:

The suspension is introduced from the top into the rotating basket lined with filter cloth. Under centrifugal force, the liquid phase passes through the cloth and perforated basket wall and is discharged as filtrate, while the solids are retained inside the basket and gradually form a uniform cake. When washing is required, wash liquid is sprayed onto the cake to displace mother liquor and dissolve impurities. A further spin stage reduces residual moisture. After the basket is decelerated and brought to a complete stop, the cover is opened and the operator manually loosens and removes the cake. The basket is then inspected and cleaned as required before the next batch.
