The PD Series is a batch filtering centrifuge with a rigid flat-plate base and bag-lifting top discharge design. Solids are retained inside a filter bag and removed together with the bag assembly after filtration, which minimizes direct operator contact, reduces residual heel inside the basket, and shortens cleaning and product changeover time.
The PD Series is especially suitable for products that require clean handling, flexible campaign production, and gentle discharge of wet cake. It is widely used in fine chemicals, dyes, agrochemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, food additives, starch derivatives, and selected new-energy materials.
Key Feature 1 — Clean Bag-Lifting Discharge
The filter cake is discharged together with the filter bag, reducing manual scraping inside the basket, minimizing product loss, and keeping the machine interior cleaner between batches.
Key Feature 2 — Flat-Plate Structure with Low Vibration
A rigid flat-plate base, precision balancing, and stable support structure provide smooth running and low vibration, while simplifying installation and relocation.
Key Feature 3 — Flexible Filtration and Washing
Different filter-bag materials, pore sizes and constructions can be selected according to product requirements. In-basket cake washing is available for improved purity and reduced mother-liquor residue.
Key Feature 4 — Safer and More Hygienic Handling
The bag-lifting concept reduces direct operator contact with wet cake. Toxic, corrosive, odorous or allergenic solids can be transferred in a more controlled manner to downstream handling areas.
Key Feature 5 — Ideal for Multi-Product Campaigns
Filter bags can be changed quickly, helping reduce cross-contamination risk and shorten downtime between products, grades or colors.
(1) Adapted to High-Solids and Difficult Cakes
The PD Series is suitable for slurries with relatively high solids content, thick cakes, or sticky products where conventional gravity discharge or bottom scraping is less efficient.
(2) Gentle Crystal and Cake Handling
Because the cake is removed together with the filter bag rather than being aggressively scraped from the basket wall, mechanical shear is minimized. This helps preserve fragile crystal morphology and particle-size distribution.
(3) Improved Operator and Environmental Protection
The solids can be removed in a closed or semi-closed bag-handling mode, helping reduce exposure to toxic, corrosive, odorous or dusty products and facilitating cleaner downstream transfer.
(4) Suitable for Campaign Manufacturing
Quick bag replacement allows one machine to process different products, grades or colors with reduced carry-over, making the PD Series suitable for batch-oriented and flexible manufacturing strategies.
(5) Balanced Economy and Practicality
Compared with more complex automatic discharge systems, the PD design offers a practical balance of equipment cost, maintenance simplicity and clean handling performance.
Fine Chemicals & Inorganic Salts
Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, ammonium chloride, sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, soda ash, borates, phosphates, silicates and ion-exchange materials.
Dyes, Pigments & Intermediates
Reactive dyes, vat dyes, acid dyes, dye intermediates, organic pigments, color lakes and toner-related solids requiring washing and salt removal.
Agrochemicals
Technical-grade herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and their intermediates, especially where operator protection and controlled discharge are important.
Pharmaceutical Intermediates & Crude APIs
Intermediates from crystallization, salting-out and fermentation routes, where cleaner handling and quick campaign changeover are required.
Food, Fermentation & Starch Derivatives
Sugar alcohols such as sorbitol and xylitol, starch derivatives, food preservatives, amino acids, yeast products and selected sweeteners.
Metallurgy, Mining & New Energy
Lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, selected precursor salts, non-ferrous metal salts, and other crystalline or precipitated solids requiring contained handling.
Environmental Protection & Waste Treatment
Recovery of salts from high-salinity wastewater, dewatering of spent catalyst fines, and handling of solid by-products from solvent recovery or evaporation systems.
Feeding:
The slurry is fed into the rotating basket lined with a selected filter bag.
Separation:
Under centrifugal force, the liquid phase passes through the filter bag and perforated basket wall, while the solids are retained inside the bag to form a cake.
Washing:
If required, wash liquid is introduced during rotation to displace mother liquor and remove soluble impurities from the cake.
Discharge:
After filtration and washing, the machine is decelerated and stopped. The cover is opened and the loaded filter bag is lifted out by hoist or lifting frame. A fresh bag is then installed for the next batch.
