The LW Series is a continuous, horizontal scroll discharge decanter centrifuge designed for solid–liquid two-phase separation and solid–liquid–liquid three-phase separation. With high centrifugal force, adjustable differential speed and stable continuous discharge, it delivers reliable clarification, dewatering and concentration performance under fluctuating feed conditions. It is widely used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, environmental protection, mining and energy industries where automatic 24/7 operation and low maintenance are critical.
Key Feature 1 — Continuous Automatic Operation
Designed for uninterrupted continuous processing, the LW decanter centrifuge completes feeding, separation, solids conveying and discharge in one machine. It reduces manual intervention, improves production continuity and is ideal for round-the-clock industrial duty.
Key Feature 2 — Stable Separation Under Fluctuating Feed
With adjustable bowl speed and differential speed, the machine maintains stable centrate clarity and solids dryness even when feed concentration, particle size or throughput changes.
Key Feature 3 — Efficient Clarification and Dewatering
The optimized bowl geometry and scroll design provide strong settling performance, effective solids capture and reliable dewatering. This helps reduce downstream load and improve overall process efficiency.
Key Feature 4 — Robust Structure for Harsh Duty
Critical product-contact parts are available in stainless steel, duplex stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant materials. Wear-prone zones can be reinforced for abrasive slurries, extending service life in demanding applications.
Key Feature 5 — Intelligent Control and Low Maintenance
The LW series supports local control or PLC/HMI automation, with options for vibration monitoring, bearing temperature monitoring and remote communication. Its compact, enclosed design helps reduce routine maintenance and improve operational safety.
(1) High Clarification Efficiency
The suspension enters the rotating bowl and is subjected to strong centrifugal force. Solids with higher density settle rapidly onto the bowl wall, while the clarified liquid phase moves toward the large end and exits through the overflow outlet. This makes the LW series highly suitable for clarification, thickening and primary dewatering duties.
(2) Continuous Solids Conveying and Discharge
The screw conveyor rotates at a slight differential speed relative to the bowl and continuously transports the settled solids toward the conical drying section and solids outlet. This enables uninterrupted solids discharge and stable continuous operation.
(3) Adaptability to Wide Feed Conditions
Compared with intermittent filtration equipment, the LW decanter is better suited to feeds with changing solids content, fluctuating flow rates and fine particles. It can also be configured for two-phase or three-phase separation according to process requirements.
(4) Energy-Saving and OPEX Reduction
By integrating clarification, concentration and dewatering in one continuous machine, the LW series reduces equipment count, floor space and manual handling. Variable speed control helps optimize energy use and lower operating cost.
(5) Reliable Mechanical Design
The bowl, screw, bearings and differential system are designed for long-term industrial duty. For corrosive, abrasive or high-load applications, customized material selection and wear protection can be provided to ensure reliability and extended service life.
Environmental Protection & Wastewater Treatment: Municipal sludge thickening and dewatering; industrial wastewater solids removal; drilling mud, tunneling slurry and oily sludge treatment.
Food, Beverage & Starch Processing: Starch washing and dewatering for corn, wheat, cassava and potato; soy and plant-protein recovery; fruit juice, beverage and edible oil clarification.
Chemical & Fine Chemical Industry: Pigments, dyes, inorganic salts, catalysts, resins, titanium dioxide, gypsum and other chemical slurries requiring clarification, concentration or dewatering.
Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology: Fermentation broth clarification, mycelium separation, cell mass recovery and solvent-based process separation.
Mining, Minerals & Energy: Coal slime dewatering, kaolin and calcium carbonate classification, tailings thickening, mineral slurry treatment and energy-sector by-product separation.
The slurry is fed continuously into the rotating bowl through a stationary feed pipe. Under high centrifugal force, denser solid particles settle rapidly onto the bowl wall to form a solids layer. The screw conveyor rotates at a differential speed relative to the bowl and pushes the settled solids toward the conical section for further dewatering before discharge through the solids outlet. Meanwhile, the clarified liquid phase flows in the opposite direction and exits through the overflow port at the large end of the bowl. Depending on the process design, the machine can be configured for two-phase solid–liquid separation or three-phase solid–liquid–liquid separation.
